DESCRIPTION
To be honest, before i wrote this article; I've never heard the term Nearpod until my friend introduced it to me last month. It is one of the most wonderful apps for you to presents you idea to people. Without wasting any time, let me introduce to you what makes Nearpod so great to me.
Nearpod is an interactive presentation and assessment tool that can be used to amazing effect in the classroom. The app’s concept is simple. A teacher can create presentations that can contain Quiz’s, Polls, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content and so on. The children can access a teacher’s presentation through a code. It is up to the teacher to then move the class through the presentation and let them interact with the media as they go.

In short, it’s a way for teachers to put together and present interactive presentations, which in turn, keep students engaged. With Nearpod, students are engaged drawing, taking quizzes, participating in a poll, completing fill in the blank exercises, and/or writing short answers to questions that are posed by the teacher in the Nearpod.
This app is a ‘web based’ and is accessible on a ‘log in’ basis. This means that you can access your Nearpod account through any device that connects to the internet. The nice thing about this is that you can run and, more importantly, create your presentations on a computer. In this case, the iPad is just the tool to deliver your Nearpod creations with. Ultimately, the real beauty of this app is that it enables you to connect with your students (digitally that is). This connection and the flexible nature of Nearpod means that it can be used in many different creative and innovative ways.
FEATURES
There are several features of Nearpod that very useful for teachers to be implemented in their teaching and learning session. (source from Nearpod)
1. Draw It
It is like an interactive whiteboard where your students can draw, highlight, type, and add pictures.
2. Open-Ended Question
Students are given a chance to freely demonstrate their understanding of a topic.
3. Quiz
For this parts, teacher can easily assess their students understanding through multiple choice questions and the best part is teacher can immediately receive its results.
4. Poll
This is not the poll in election for governer 😁. But it is more on highlighting student opinions, check for understanding, or provoke a discussion.
5. Collaborate
Besides, you can create a collaborative learning opportunities where the students can share their ideas in real-time.
6. VR Fields Trip
The best part is teacher can take their students on a virtual reality adventure without leaving the classroom.
7. Fill in The Blank
A fun “drag & drop” activity that allows students to populate blanks with words.
8. Matching Pairs
Last but not least, a classic match game. Let students test their knowledge by matching pictures and/or text.
